Our Story
We love eggs! And we’re on a mission to share our passion for eggs with people all across Ireland.
First things first. We love what we do! We get to work with a food that is completely natural, unbelievably nutritious, extremely versatile, delicious in all its forms, super sustainable, and fantastic value for money. This passion is shared by every single person in the Golden Irish family.
We believe in family, our people and long-term relationships
Based in Castleblayney, our business is built on two families now in their second generation. Today we’re proud to source our eggs from like-minded, dedicated Irish farming families located in Louth, Meath, Monaghan and Cavan. We have a super team in our modern packing facility. Our relationships are built on trust and doing what we say we will.
We prioritise hen welfare
100% free range, our hens like to work, rest and play on their own terms. With cosy barns and green fields to play in, they like to spread their wings, shoot the breeze, and when the time is right, lay an egg. There’s no pressure! They can work from home if they want to. Feeding our hens the highest quality, specially sourced feed enables us to guarantee you the very best eggs, every single time.
We care deeply about the environment
Our passion for eggs includes our love for our environment too. Our packaging is compostable and so are the egg shells! And as proud members of Bord Bia’s Origin Green programme we champion sustainability. We repurpose waste for land spread replacing chemical fertiliser and our packing facility is fully heated and cooled using 100% renewable energy.
We’re innovative and ambitious for the future
